On 14 and 15th of September 2018, Romexpo together with Dizainăr store and Atelierul Magazine, will embark on the 7th edition of the Design Conference, event that brings together creators, designers, architects, and the public interested in smart industries .
Between 11am and 3pm you are invited at Titulescu Room, Pavilion B3, Romexpo for The Design Conference: Smart Industries for a Smart City, where guests are well-known speakers with whom we will discuss topics regarding smart and creative industries in Romania. Day one will focus on Smart Design & Smart Energy, while the second day will shift focus towards Smart Urbanism & Smart Transportation.
The Design Conference Smart Industries for a Smart City will take place on the third and fourth day of BIFE-SIM – International Furniture Fair, where people from all cultural environments are expected to attend. BIFE-SIM will take place in the Pavilions B1 and B2, between 12th and 16th September 2018, where more than 350 companies are going to show their work on a surface of 30.000 m2, the number of expected visitors is estimated at 25.000. BIFE-SIM is the biggest event in its category in Romania, and it brings together the most important furniture producers at European level.
Smart Industries for a Smart City
Smart cities are not of thing of the future anymore, they are part of our present.
Smart city terminology refers to the cities that are highly involved in new technologies, smart ones, dedicated to improve public services, increase the level of comfort of citizens in urban and rural places, using resources in a more efficient way, and reducing expenses on the medium and long term.
A smart city is a city that gathers information and uses modern technology to improve traffic, better public transportation, reduce pollution and energy consumption, to change for the better the relation between citizen and authorities, reform living conditions, healthcare and education. All in all, a smart city is a city that works for the benefit of its citizens.
